Auschwitz
*Considered to be the biggest extermination camp during the Holocaust. There were three sections that were named Auschwitz I, Auschwitz II and Auschwitz III. Auschwitz I held 10,000 to 12,000 prisoners. Auschwitz II held up to 90,000 prisoners and was where most of the killings took place. Aushwitz III held another 10,000 prisoners.
"By mid-1942, the majority of those being sent by the Nazis to Auschwitz were Jews. Upon arriving at the camp, detainees were examined by Nazi doctors. Those detainees considered unfit for work, including young children, the elderly, pregnant women and the infirm, were immediately ordered to take showers. However, the bathhouses to which they marched were disguised gas chambers. Once inside, the prisoners were exposed to Zyklon-B poison gas. Individuals marked as unfit for work were never officially registered as Auschwitz inmates. For this reason, it is impossible to calculate the number of lives lost in the camp." Dr. Death
To make matters worse, Dr. Josef Mengele, did many surgeries and operations on many children at Auschwitz. "Dr. Josef Mengele, nicknamed The Angel Of Death, and the other Nazi doctors at the death camps tortured men, women and children and did medical experiments of unspeakable horror during the Holocaust. Victims were put into pressure chambers, tested with drugs, castrated, frozen to death. Children were exposed to experimental surgeries performed without anesthesia, transfusions of blood from one to another, isolation endurance, reaction to various stimuli. The doctors made injections with lethal germs, sex change operations, removal of organs and limbs." (http://www.mengele.dk/) He also experimented on twins by trying to change their eye color or by timing their deaths through his experiments. Although the website said he was psychologically normal, I disagree.
